MIXED PMR/GPRS DATA
Use the Datax3 in conjunction with a Lynx Communications Bridge and you have a mobile data solution with maximum PMR and GPRS/GSM connectivity.
The Lynx Communications Bridge incorporates an industry standard 1200/2400/4800baud FFSK modem for data connectivity over conventional two-way radio networks and an intelligent Dual SIM GPRS/GSM modem that enables data connectivity over a choice of any two GPRS networks.
Compatibility with data-ready two-way radios ensures the optimum coverage from a two-way radio network. The Lynx Communications Bridge has been designed in conjunction with major two-way radio manufacturers for best performance and uses an industry standard dedicated FFSK modem device.
The GPRS/GSM modem uses the latest intelligent modem technology compatible with GSM850, E-GSM900, DCS1800 and PCS1900 bands. Any other band can be covered on request. The use of dual Sim cards and the switching between them for automatic selection of networks can be based on availability or location.
The combination of PMR and GPRS/GSM communications, along with the ability to switch between them automatically and seamlessly, provides guaranteed “always-on” connectivity with the vehicles while providing redundancy from any one system failure or drop out due to coverage issues.
The criteria of network selection is not only based on network signal strengths but works in conjunction with the vehicle’s location. The built-in high sensitivity GPS receiver of the Lynx combined with the advanced Geofencing software provides another factor to determine which one of the three communication networks to use at any given time. In this way, pre-defined “exclusion zones” for particular communication technologies or networks can be configured if required.
